What is the purpose and function of condensing boiler?

Does British Gas have a labour policy for breakdown and maintenance service calls?

British Gas employs over 8000 certified engineers to help ensure that one will handle your maintenance and service issues. There are, however, rare instances where a British Gas engineer will send a qualified contractor to handle your boiler and heating issues. British Gas is dedicated to providing you with the service you need and the quality parts and protection you deserve.

Is it possible to apply for British Gas’ Breakdown Cover even if my supplier for electricity and gas is not British Gas?

Can I only apply if British Gas installed my boiler?

Boilers that have essential working parts available and are approved by British Gas during the initial Safety Inspection are eligible, even if British Gas did not install them.

Is it possible to find out what type of boiler I have?

Finding out what type of boiler you have is simple. You can learn what type of boiler you have by contacting your manufacturer – simply look at the name located on the front of your boiler near the main controls. Under the main cover, you should be able to locate most of the product details. Another option – for those with a hot water tank – is to take these easy steps:

  • If you do have a hot water tank – it is most likely a conventional boiler
  • If you do not and the boiler fires up when you turn on your hot taps, then you have a combination boiler
