My wife and I are renovating a 1959 Det Bungalow to current Building regs and will have a complete new Gas heating system fitted. We would appreciate your veiw as to which system would be best suited. The Bungalow will have cavity wall insulation,Max loft insulation, UPVC Double Glazed windows and doors.I hope this is enough info, many thanks, Chris Hindle.

Chris.
Although the simple answer to your query would be ‘a modern, efficient condensing boiler’, you really need to get the property surveyed by an expert and the appropriate boiler size calculated for your specific circumstances before a more detailed answer is possible.
A good place to start is a call to British Gas (Call 0845 074 5994)who will happily send an expert out to assess your needs. They are not always the cheapest option but their advice is reliable and their staff are always well trained for this kind of situation. You are under no obligation to buy from them, there is no ‘hard sell’ and you can check prices from other suppliers before making any decisions. More to the point, at least you’ll have an expert opinion on the best boiler as a starting point!
Hope this helps and good luck with your renovations.
Alan

Yeah, I’ve used British Gas in the past when my combi gas boiler broke down and even though they were more expensive the level of service I recieved was really good and they came out straight away too.
